The fine print

The boring-but-
important stuff.

Pantsy is a party game, so we've kept this short and in plain English. Two documents live on this page: the terms you agree to by playing, and what happens to your data (very little). Pantsy is made by Felian AS, org. nr. 928 328 864, Stavanger, Norway. Questions? hello@pantsy.app.

Terms of Service

Last updated 11 June 2026Applies to pantsy.app

The short version

Pantsy is free to play. Be decent to the people you're playing with, don't put anything illegal in your custom categories, and don't try to break the game for others. It's built and run by one person who does his best to keep it running — but it comes with no guarantees.

1.1What Pantsy is

Pantsy is a free browser-based party game operated by Felian AS ("we", "us"). By creating or joining a game at pantsy.app you agree to these terms. There's no account to create and nothing to download; if you don't agree with the terms, simply don't play. Pantsy is free today. We may introduce paid features in the future — if we do, these terms will be updated and anything that costs money will be clearly marked before you pay.

1.2House rules

Don't use Pantsy to harass other players, disrupt games you weren't invited to, or probe, overload, or interfere with the service itself. Game codes are meant for the people in your room — guessing codes to join strangers' games is not in the spirit of things.

1.3Your words, your categories

When you build a custom category, you're responsible for what you put in it. Don't include content that's illegal, hateful, or that you don't have the right to use. Custom categories stay yours — we don't claim ownership — but you give us permission to store and display them so your game works. If you use AI to generate a category, the topic you type is sent to our AI provider to produce the word list (details in the Privacy Policy below).

A word on the AI: we've built guardrails — instructions to the model and server-side filtering — and we're strongly opposed to sexist, racist, homophobic, or otherwise demeaning content appearing in the game. But generative AI is not fully predictable, so we can't guarantee its output is always appropriate. If something lands wrong, email us and we'll deal with it.

1.4Clubs & nicknames

Clubs let a recurring group keep stats and grudges between game nights. Pick a name your friends would recognise and that won't get you uninvited. We may remove clubs, names, or categories that break these terms, and block rooms or devices that keep breaking them.

1.5Availability

We aim to keep Pantsy up for your game night, but it's provided "as is" — built and run by one person, so we can't promise uninterrupted service, and we may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time. It's a living game.

1.6Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect damages arising from your use of Pantsy. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. Friendships strained by exceptionally good bluffing are explicitly your own responsibility.

1.7Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed; material changes will be announced in the app, and continuing to play after a change means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by Norwegian law, with Norwegian courts having jurisdiction — though if you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, you keep any protections of your home country's law.

These terms and the privacy policy are written in English and translated so you can read them in your own language. If a translation ever disagrees with the English version, the English version controls.

Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 June 2026Applies to pantsy.app

The short version

No accounts, no email, no tracking across the web, no selling data — ever. Almost everything lives on your own device. We keep the minimum needed to run your game: the nickname you choose, the game's state while you play, and your group's club stats between game nights.

2.1What we collect

On your device only: your nickname, language, game settings, your lifetime play stats, and an anonymous device ID (a random string we call your "passport") live in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device except as described below; clearing your browser data removes them.

While you play: your nickname, clues, votes, and any custom category words you type are held on our game server so the other players in your room can see them.

Clubs: when a group finishes a game, we automatically save that group as a "club" on our server, so the same crew can pick up where it left off next time — each member's nickname, their anonymous passport ID, and aggregate game stats (rounds played, escapes, and similar counters). No emails, no real identities; the club itself is identified only by a scrambled combination of the group's anonymous IDs. If you protect your spot with a passkey — your phone's own hardened login, Face ID or fingerprint on iPhone and Android — your face or fingerprint never leaves your device; we only store the passkey's public key, the half that can't be used to impersonate you. You can also move your spot to a new device with a recovery link: it's single-use, expires after 24 hours, and hands your club identity to whoever opens it — so treat it like a key, not a party invite.

Analytics: anonymous usage events (things like "how many rounds does a typical game last"), tied to your random passport ID — never your name. We also include your language setting, which helps us understand which parts of the world the game is played in. We never ask for your full name, email, or phone number to play.

2.2How we use it

Game data is used for exactly one thing: making the game work — showing the right word to the right phone, tallying votes, and generating end-of-round results. Club history is used to show your group its own stats and grudges. Analytics are used to understand and improve the game. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't sell or rent data to anyone.

2.3Where it lives & how long

Game rooms are deleted automatically after 7 days of inactivity. Club data is kept until the club is deleted — to delete a club or be removed from one, email hello@pantsy.app. Device data stays on your device until you clear it. Analytics are stored with PostHog in the EU (Frankfurt).

2.4Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run Pantsy, each processing data solely on our instructions: Cloudflare (network and hosting infrastructure), PostHog (analytics, EU-hosted), and Anthropic (AI — when you use AI-generated categories, the topic you type is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the word list, and is used only for that). Like most of the web, the game also loads its fonts and two small display libraries from public content-delivery networks (Google Fonts, cdnjs, jsDelivr); your browser fetches those files directly, and none of your game data goes with them. Other than that: nobody. Ever.

2.5Cookies

We use four first-party cookies, all functional, none for advertising: pof-lang (your language), pof-passport (your anonymous device ID — kept in a cookie as well as local storage so your phone doesn't forget who you are), and pof-region and pof-country (which content region to show, stamped from your country at the network level — we never store your IP address). Each lasts up to one year. Local storage on your device remembers things like your nickname, your play stats, and a game in progress, so a refresh doesn't kick you out. No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Our analytics are cookieless too, and deliberately blunt: IP addresses are blocked at ingestion, no names, clues, words, or vote targets are ever sent, session recording is off, and your browser's Do Not Track setting is honoured — switch it on and analytics stops. Want out and DNT isn't your thing? Email us.

2.6Your rights

Pantsy is operated from Norway, so the GDPR applies, with Felian AS as data controller. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing — email us and we'll sort it out. Because we don't collect identifying details, the honest answer will often be "almost nothing — your club roster, at most". You can also complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.

2.7Children

Pantsy is a party game for general audiences and doesn't collect real identities. If you're a child, play it the way it's meant to be played: with the adults in the room. If you believe we've ended up holding data about a young child, contact us and we'll delete it.
